Briefings for February:

Our post continues to focus on promoting patriotism, tracking and responding to veteran needs, preserving our history and heritage, and supporting our active duty troops. I'll be meeting with Gibraltar Principals and faculty management teams to explore process improvements in our Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy programs. I've met with webmasters for both our District 8 and State VFW web sites and will be merging and integrating site content throughout 2008.

Following are photographs of some of the VFW drivers we'll be working with during 2008.

Commander VFW District #8        Louis "Lou" Van Eperen

David Behrend - Bruce Biseley National Military Assistance Program (MAP) - He's on the phone with a veteran in need.  -
Michael Borg - State Judge Advocate - District 8 Quartermaster - District 8 Webmaster.

Steven Conto - State VFW Historian

We will be working with Steve and Gibraltar students on a number of programs that coordinate our patriotism programs and veteran tracking projects.

Post' Membership Briefing - Year-end December 31, 2007

2007 was a very good year for VFW Post 8337. Following are just a few highlights that will go down in history. I salute all our members for their dedication to duty, hard work, and commitment to their God and Country. I share these highlights in no particular order:
In December we honored those who were ambushed, fought and died December 7, 1941. It was cold and the snow was deep but we dug our way in and out of the parks, shoved as needed, and raised flags to full and back to half mast before placing wreaths and reading tributes to our fallen heroes.

December 7, 2007

In September we joined forces with the TITAN Motorcycle Club and raised funds for scholarships and Voice of Democracy - Patriot's Pen awards we presented to students from Gibraltar. We'll be riding with the TITANs again next year on September 27, 2008.

Patriot's Pen Award Winner

We salute Katelaine Buske Winner of our Post 8337 Patriot's Pen contest. Keep up the good work Katelane. We're proud of you!

Gibraltar' Voice of Democracy winners: From left to right: Tanner Lundquist, Molly Marie Genchik, Morgan Petersilka, Roger Ohnesoge - Commander VFW Post 9290, Lee Burnett - Quartermaster VFW Post 8337, Camille Orgel, Jeffrey Schneider, and Charity Weborg.
